A car crashed into a building on Tooting High Street in the early hours of this morning during a two-vehicle collision, with both drivers fleeing the scene.

Police attended the scene at 3.55am on December 22 after reports of a car crash.

When they arrived, they found that a crash involving two vehicles had occurred, one of which had crashed into a business front in Tooting High Street.

There were no reported injuries.

Two vehicles were removed by police from the scene, including a grey-coloured Fiat 550 which had crashed into the venue and a black BMW from the pavement.

Drivers of both vehicles fled the scene on foot and there have been no arrests.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 03:55am this morning, Friday 22 December, to reports of a car in collision with a building in Tooting.

"Police attended. At the scene a collision has taken place involving two cars, one of which collided with the front of a business premises on Tooting High Street.

"There were no reported injuries.

"Two vehicles were removed from the scene. A grey coloured Fiat 500 that was embedded in the building and a black coloured BMW from the pavement.

"The drivers of both vehicles left the scene on foot. There have been no arrests.

"Enquiries continue.
