A car crashed through the wall of a house after the driver suffered an epileptic fit at the wheel.

Police and paramedics were called to Matlock Place, West Sutton, following the collision at about 8.20am on Wednesday, August 24.

Reggie Bateson, who lives in the house, said: “I woke up to a very loud bang and ran out to see what it was.

“A car came off the A217 and went into my house, my family and neighbours dialled 999.

"We rushed to help the man in the car who was suffering an epileptic fit and he was foaming at the mouth. We gave him his epileptic pen - thank God he was OK.

“Soon afterwards three fire engines and many police cars arrived to help the man.”

Police confirmed that no one had been seriously injured in the accident.
