Golden Curry has been given a stylish refurbishment that is clean, modern and contemporary - there is even a wall-mounted plasma screen on which easy listening Indian music is played.
But it retains the fantastic food.
The mayor and mayoress were among the guests at a private party marking the restaurant's relaunch.
Aromatic smells wafted from an impressive buffet that was filled with delights such as peanut rice, Indian fish and chicken curry. The food was as good as it looked - not too spicy, not too hot, just right; the succulent chicken melted in the mouth.
The chef surpassed himself to create a menu that would be remembered and could certainly rival the West End.
Diners were impressed with the refit and the food and some commented on "that personal touch".
Owner Mr Choudhury has pulled out all the stops to make sure you enjoy visiting Golden Curry and look forward to coming back again and again.
