A public meeting on the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership (TTIP) is set to be held.

Guest speakers John Hillary, executive director of War on Want; Green party MEP for London Jean Lambert, who co-authored a report on the impact on the TTIP and activist Linda Kaucher have been invited to attend
TTIP is an agreement set to be put in place that would cut tariffs and regulatory barriers between the US and EU countries, a move that is designed to make it easier to access each other’s markets.

The three speakers believe the TTIP transfers the power from the government to big business.

The Stop TTIP petition now carries over 1,250,000 signatures and, in October 2014, there were 450 protest actions across 24 EU member states.

The meeting will be on Friday 30 at Friends House, Sutton, SM2 5DA, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm email sutton4peace@yahoo.co.uk or text 07740 594496.
