Police officers will be on hand to hand out crime prevention advice ahead of the Christmas period.
The service is being launched at Tesco in Oldfields Road, Sutton, on Tuesday, December 2, with an officer stationed up to six hours a week at a stand inside the main entrance.
Chief inspector partnership Sutton, Duncan McMillan, said: "This is a great opportunity for residents to speak to officers and get to know them as well as raising any issues or concerns they may have.
A range of crime prevention advice will be available to match the time of year, so during December we will be focusing on helping residents to keep their home and all their Christmas presents secure."
The Tesco contact point will be open:
- Tuesdays: 11am-1pm
- Thursdays: 6pm-8pm
- Saturdays: 10am-noon
